I approach a vase of flowers the same way I approach a canyon: as a composition, with a foreground and a background and a question about where the light is coming from. These are not decorative arrangements — they are paintings made by someone who has spent decades learning to notice what most people walk past, and who believes, plainly, that beauty feeds the soul.
